The ability to read, write and analyse; the confidence to stand up and demand justice and equality; the qualifications and connections to get your foot in that door and take your seat at the table - all of that starts with education.

Year 5 Visit to Stratford

6 Jul

This week, Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to Stratford-upon-Avon. Their first stop was the Stratford Butterfly Farm, where pupils took part in a guided tour and learnt about a variety of butterfly species, their life cycles and their natural habitats. The children were fascinated by the colourful butterflies flying freely around the tropical enclosure.

They also visited the Minibeast Metropolis, where they discovered more about a range of insects and invertebrates, including the remarkable leafcutter ants. A particular highlight for many pupils was the opportunity to hold a stick insect and learn more about it.

After an enjoyable lunch beside the River Avon, we took a stroll into the town centre to visit The Play’s The Thing exhibition. The exhibition offered pupils a unique insight into the history of theatre-making in Stratford-upon-Avon, allowing them to explore historic costumes, props and artefacts linked to Shakespearean productions.
