Year 2's Martineau Garden Visit
14 Oct
Year 2 had a fantastic visit to Martineau Gardens as part of their science learning. The children explored a range of scientific vocabulary, including nutrients, respiration and excretion, before heading into the woods to identify different trees by their leaves. They also enjoyed a mini-beast hunt, where they counted legs and used their observations to identify a variety of creatures.
After some time to play and enjoy their lunch, the children explored the kitchen garden, discovering different herbs by smelling them and describing their characteristics. It was a wonderful day of hands-on learning, and the children were a credit to the school with their excellent behaviour throughout.
