The ability to read, write and analyse; the confidence to stand up and demand justice and equality; the qualifications and connections to get your foot in that door and take your seat at the table - all of that starts with education.

Year 6's Visit to St Philip's Cathedral

23 Nov

At Colmers Farm, we are working hard to promote the acceptance, respect and understanding of others who may have different faiths or beliefs to ourselves. This is part of our 'No Outsiders' approach to teaching equality.

At our school, every year group (from Years 2-6) visits a different place of worship each year, which reflects a different religion. These visits link with the RE topic each year group are studying. As Year 6 currently are studying Christianity, they today went on a visit to St. Philip's Cathedral in Birmingham City Centre. This is the fourth smallest cathedral in the UK, however there was still plenty to explore and discover.

At the end of the visit, a candle was lit to remember Miss MacDougall whose funeral was later this day.
