Year 5 Mosque Visit
16 Dec
This week, our Year 5 pupils had the wonderful opportunity to visit Birmingham Central Mosque as part of their Religious Education learning. The trip was an enriching experience that helped the children deepen their understanding of Islam and appreciate the diversity within our community.
During the visit, the children learned about the Five Pillars of Islam, which are the core beliefs and practices that guide Muslims in their faith. They explored how these pillars shape daily life and why they are so important.
The highlight of the day was a guided tour of the prayer hall, where pupils saw the beautiful architecture and learned about the significance of the space for worship. They were fascinated to see how Muslims prepare for prayer and the sense of peace and respect within the mosque.
Experiencing the mosque first-hand gave the children a chance to ask thoughtful questions and reflect on what they had learned in class. It was a fantastic opportunity to promote understanding, respect, and curiosity about different faiths.
A big thank you to Birmingham Central Mosque for welcoming us so warmly!
